Digitized by U MAss Amherst, these photographs from the Diana Mara Henry Photographer collection at the Du Bois Library tell the story

....women surrounded the Pentagon numerous enough to link arms a mile around its circumference, and wove across the entrances and challenged its workers as they entered and exited. Can anyone imagine doing that today?

Danielle Notaro was arrested for her graffitti: "Rendered impotent by act of women".

If you would like to contact her for her ongoing acts and projects, email us now....

Danielle Notaro writes to DMH on October 2: "To clarify, I did not write "KILLER" on the wall. I did write the Rendered Impotent etc. after putting heads together with a 3-4 women contingent from Vermont. The question was asked who was going to actually write it. A split second later,I grabbed the magic marker and ran down the landing and did the deed. It was my idea to draw a heart around the writing on the spur of the moment. A woman I did not know wrote Killer afterwards&I didn't like it. I turned around& that's when 2 cops were walking toward me. None of what I did was planned. I went to be a support to Vermonters doing CD".
